How to cultivate a life lived "on the knees" through the discipline of prayer and consistent surrender.
Activating the Power. The knee is the posture of surrender. How do we make this posture a daily, effective discipline?
The answer is intentional, consistent prayer.
The Three Disciplines of the Knee (Prayer)
1. Investment of Time (Consistency): Prayer is an investment (https://www.youprevail.net/2025/09/the-principles-of-investment-part-1.html). We must commit time and energy to it, trusting in the compound growth of small, faithful moments.
Practical Step: Set a non-negotiable time and place to meet with God daily.
2. Posture of Honesty (Authenticity): Prayer requires radical honesty (https://www.youprevail.net/2025/09/the-honesty-advantage-building-life-of.html). We must come to God exactly as we are, without pretense or performance. This is the place for proper self-examination and confession.
Practical Step: Bring your flaws, fears, and real motives to God, holding nothing back.
3. The Work of Intercession (Growth for Others): The knee isn't just for ourselves; it's a place of service for others. Interceding for our friends, family, and world is how we participate in God's kingdom work.
How effective is your knee?
Is your knee feeble or strong?
Every problem is solvable on your knees, through your faith.
Don't just go around worrying and panicking, confused about life. You have a winning point, which means you can always win all the battles of life. Why not take that challenge to God on your knees?
Knee in prayer for the purpose of worshipping God: In Revelation 19:10, the Apostle John is seen falling to his knees at the feet of an angel. The angel’s immediate response, “Don’t do that! …Worship God!”
You don't fall at the face of any challenge, but fall on your knees to worship God at the face of that challenge.
Kneel in prayer, acknowledging God's holiness.
Kneeling embodies the spirit of submission, reverence, and humility; it reflects the attitude our most holy God deserves.
