The Discipline of Victory 2

How to  cultivate a life lived  "on the knees"  through the discipline of prayer and consistent surrender. Kneel in prayer for intention: Distraction and broken intentions plague us all. This is one reason Jesus taught his disciples to pray in secret, behind closed doors; He Himself frequently withdrew to pray (Luke 5:16). It's in quiet solitude where Christians can pray more easily, with uninterrupted intention. Even benefiting from the increased focus that comes with kneeling, and its rewards are like no other. Kneel in prayer for the purpose of posture’s effect: kneeling in prayer has a way of connecting the body, heart, and mind. This is why a kneeling prayer posture is uniquely able to enforce intention, facilitate confession, and promote humility. All supporting an attitude of meekness ( Matthew 5:5 ), weakness ( 2 Corinthians 12:9 ), and reverence ( Hebrews 12:28 ).   Kneel in prayer, for Christ is King: Since Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords (...

The Discipline of Victory 1

How to  cultivate a life lived "on the knees"  through the discipline of prayer and consistent surrender.   Activating the Power . The knee is the posture of surrender.   How do we make this posture a daily, effective discipline?  The answer is intentional, consistent prayer.   The Three Disciplines of the Knee (Prayer) 1. Investment of Time (Consistency): Prayer is an investment  ( https://www.youprevail.net/2025/09/the-principles-of-investment-part-1.html ) . We must commit time and energy to it, trusting in the compound growth of small, faithful moments. Practical Step: Set a non-negotiable time and place to meet with God daily.   2. Posture of Honesty (Authenticity): Prayer requires radical honesty  ( https://www.youprevail.net/2025/09/the-honesty-advantage-building-life-of.html ) . We must come to God exactly as we are, without pretense or performance. This is the place for proper self-examination and confession. P ractical Step: Bring...

THE POWER OF THE KNEE

Fight all your battles on your knees, and you will win every time.   What does it mean to fight your battle kneeling?: "Ephesians 3:14 (NKJV) - They Who Kneel Before God Can Stand Before Anyone." Kneeling is the ultimate posture of submission and surrender.   To kneel is to indicate, by bodily attitude, a total submission of our minds and hearts to the true Presence of Christ. It is an exterior manifestation of the reverence inspired by His Presence.   Simply put , fighting your battle on your knees means instead of fighting physically, PRAY, i.e., using your knees  as your weapon for fighting.   K neeling is the ultimate act of surrender, humility, and acknowledging God's sovereignty.  It is m ore than a Physical Act .   K neeling is a posture of vulnerability, submission, and reverence. I n the Christian life, the "knee" is the most powerful weapon. It's where battles are won before they are ever fought. The Christian life does ...

The Peace That Prevails

When the World is Loud, Find the Stillness Within   There is a specific kind of noise that starts the moment our eyes open. It isn’t always the sound of traffic or the news; often, it’s the internal noise of "to-do" lists, yesterday’s regrets, and tomorrow’s anxieties.   But here is the truth we often forget: Peace isn't the absence of noise; it's the presence of God.   In John 14:27, Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives." The world gives peace only when everything is going well. God gives peace even when the storm is still raging.   Surviving vs. Prevailing Many of us spend our days just trying to survive the next hour. But you were created for more than just survival. You were created to prevail. To prevail means to be victorious, to overcome, and to be of greater strength. That strength doesn't come from your morning coffee or your own willpower—it comes from the stillness found in His prese...

What Happens When You Kneel in Prayer

When a child of God bends the knee, several supernatural things begin to unfold:   1. God Steps In as Defender “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 When you kneel, you step back so God can step forward.   2. Heaven Begins to Fight for You “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him.” — Psalm 34:7 God sends reinforcement when you pray.   3. Your Heart Aligns With God’s Will Prayer doesn’t just move God — it shapes you. It brings your will into agreement with His.   4. You Gain Strength You Didn’t Have Before “Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength.” — Isaiah 40:31 Prayer gives you the strength to keep going when you’re tired and the peace to stay calm in storms.   5. You Receive Spiritual Intelligence “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” — Proverbs 3:6 When you kneel, God gives you insight, instruction, and direction that human wisdom cannot produce.   Modern-Day Example: The Door T...

THE KNEE

Why Every Victory Begins in Prayer. There is a posture in the Spirit that hell fears. Not standing tall. Not raising your voice. Not holding a weapon.   But kneeling.   To the world, kneeling looks like weakness. But in the Kingdom, kneeling is where true strength is born. It’s where battles are won before they ever show up in the natural. It’s where clarity returns, peace settles, and divine help is released. The believer who learns to fight on their knees becomes unstoppable. “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14   Stillness in Scripture is not passive; it’s prayerful. It’s the posture of one who knows that victory does not begin with human planning but with surrender.   The Posture That Moves Heaven One of the greatest mysteries of the Christian walk is this: God responds to kneeling hearts.   All through Scripture, we see men and women who brought heaven to earth through the posture of prayer: * Daniel knelt  th...

JUSTIFIED

Discovering Our Standing Before God Through Scripture There is a notable difference between being "good enough" and being justified. For many of us, life can feel like a constant courtroom drama, where we are trying to prove our worth to ourselves, others, and, most significantly, to our Creator.  We strive for a "not guilty" verdict through our own efforts, yet we often find ourselves weighed down by the heavy evidence of our own imperfections. The "spectacular news" of the Gospel is that being justified is not a reward for our performance, but a legal declaration by God. It is the "Great Exchange," in which our sin is traded for the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. In this post, we’re going to explore the bedrock of this hope by diving into the Bible verses that define what it means to be justified. From the peace found in Romans to the freedom declared in Galatians, these scriptures serve as our absolute assurance that we are no longer d...
