THE POWER OF THE KNEE

Fight all your battles on your knees, and you will win every time.

What does it mean to fight your battle kneeling?:

"Ephesians 3:14 (NKJV) - They Who Kneel Before God Can Stand Before Anyone."

Kneeling is the ultimate posture of submission and surrender.

To kneel is to indicate, by bodily attitude, a total submission of our minds and hearts to the true Presence of Christ. It is an exterior manifestation of the reverence inspired by His Presence.

Simply put, fighting your battle on your knees means instead of fighting physically, PRAY, i.e., using your knees as your weapon for fighting.

Kneeling is the ultimate act of surrender, humility, and acknowledging God's sovereignty. It is more than a Physical Act.

Kneeling is a posture of vulnerability, submission, and reverence.

In the Christian life, the "knee" is the most powerful weapon. It's where battles are won before they are ever fought. The Christian life does not start on our feet, but on our knees.

The Spiritual Meaning of the Knee

   1. Humility (Emptying Ourselves): Kneeling is the ultimate confession that we are not God. It is a physical act of lowering ourselves, emptying our pride, and acknowledging our need for a Saviour. This links back perfectly to the Justification post.

   2. Surrender (Yielding Control): When we kneel, we surrender our will, our plans, and our strength to a higher power. It's admitting that our way is insufficient and God's way is supreme. This is the opposite of living life on our own terms.

   3. Reverence (Worship and Awe): Kneeling is the classic posture of worship. It's done out of a deep sense of awe for who God is—His holiness, His majesty, and His power.

The Biblical Mandate

  • Jesus in Gethsemane: Jesus knelt in His most intense moment of struggle, surrendering His will to the Father's (Luke 22:41). This shows that even the Son of God found strength on His knees.
  • Philippians 2:10-11: The ultimate future truth: "...at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." This shows God's universal sovereignty.

The Contrast: Pride vs. Power

A life lived "on your feet" (in pride, self-reliance) is fragile and temporary. A life lived "on your knees" (in humility, dependence on God) is empowered and lasting.

The knee is the place where our will meets God's will. It is the beginning of all true spiritual growth and victory. Understanding the posture is one thing; activating the power is another.
