It’s one thing to know about God's love; it’s another thing to experience it.
Knowing about love is a theology; experiencing love is a relationship.
He Loves "You," Not Just "Us"
It’s easy to believe God loves "the world." It’s much harder to believe He loves you personally—with your specific quirks, your secret struggles, and your unique personality.
God loves you personally. His love is unconditional, perfect, and infinite - which means it isn't spread thin across billions of people. He has enough "infinite love" to focus 100% of it on you.
Try to wrap your mind around that: He loves you—not just humanity in general, but you as a specific person.
He isn't a distant CEO; He is a Father who wants to be part of your daily walk. He wants to hear about your day, not because He doesn't know, but because He loves the connection, because He cares about the details of your life and wants a deep, thriving relationship with you.
Love Without the Mask
The most incredible and transformative part of experiencing God’s love is realising He saw the "end of your movie" and still bought the ticket. He already knows everything. He knows the "you" behind the social media filters. He knows the wrong things you’ve done and even the mistakes you haven't made yet—and He still chose to love you, His love still remains unfazed.
The End of Performance Anxiety
1 John 4:18: "Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love."
Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is in your midst... He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love; He will exult over you with loud singing." Can you imagine God singing over you? That is the depth of His affection.
Ephesians 3:17-19: Paul prays that we would have the power to grasp how wide, long, high, and deep Christ’s love is. It is a multi-dimensional experience that surpasses mere head knowledge.
When you fully encounter this love, fear has to leave the room. If you are living in a state of "spiritual anxiety"—always wondering if God is mad at you or waiting for the other shoe to drop—you haven't fully tasted His love yet.
Experiencing His love means moving from the "fear of punishment" to the "freedom of a child." You don't have to wear a mask with Him. You are already seen, and you are already adored.
