A dream without nurture is nothing more than a wish. It is time to stop waiting for luck and start taking responsibility for the seed God has planted deep in your heart.

Within every human being is a natural instinct to rise, much like a flame reaching upward. This is not mere ambition; it is the fire in the bones that the prophet Jeremiah (20:9) spoke of. However, a flame that is not fanned will eventually flicker out.

You have a divine responsibility to “fan into flame the gift of God which is in you” (2 Timothy 1:6). This means you must actively seek out the experience, the support, and the environment that will allow your specific talents to reach full maturity. Dormancy is a slow death for a dream.

The Master expects a return on the investment He has made in you. In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), the only servant who was rebuked was the one who buried his gift because of fear. You cannot allow fear to dictate your growth. You must nurture the instinct to multiply what you have been given.

Romans 12:6 tells us that we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us; therefore, let us use them! Whether your gift is leadership, service, or creativity, it requires the nourishment of practice and the support of a community to become relevant.

Achieving a dream also requires the wisdom to trust your Spirit-led instincts alongside your conscious reasoning. While the world relies solely on logic, the believer relies on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. James 1:5 promises that if we lack wisdom, we can ask God, who gives generously to all.

As you nurture your dream, you will face sudden misfortunes and obstacles, but these are merely tests of your resolve. Romans 5:3-4 teaches us that suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope. Every problem is an opportunity to strengthen the spirit of the dreamer.

Lastly, you must find a way to survive the dream-killers of fatigue, loneliness, and imaginings of failure. The enemy wants you to believe you are alone, but Deuteronomy 31:8 declares that “the Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Do not be afraid! Nurture your soul by feeding on the faithfulness of God.

When you feel tired, remember that Galatians 6:9 promises a harvest “if we do not give up.” Stay the course. Nurture the seed, protect the sprout, and prepare for the day when your dream becomes a reality that glorifies God.
