WALKING IN GOD’S FAVOR — Part 2

10 Powerful Ways to Partner With God’s Favor

In Part 1, we uncovered what God’s favor truly is: divine empowerment, unmerited kindness, and the unmistakable mark of God’s approval.

Living in God’s favor is about living intentionally—surrendering, stewarding your purpose, and giving God something to bless. You don’t stumble into favor—you step into it by faith.

How to live in God’s favor

Now that we understand the immense power of favor, you're probably asking: How can I access it in my own life? While favor is a gift, there are principles we can apply and a posture we can adopt to become magnets for blessing. In this post, we’ll talk about how to partner with that favor through intentional living and a heart set on God’s purposes.

1. Surrender Everything and Live Righteously

True favor starts where your will ends. When you surrender your plans to God’s, you make room for supernatural alignment. God’s favor follows those who yield their plans to His.

“Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” — Psalm 5:12

“When we release whats in our hands, God releases whats in His.”

2. Seek God First (Spiritual Foundation)

Obey God's Word and commands. Pray and maintain a close relationship with Him. Living a life of integrity and righteousness. Humility and reliance on God. Pursue God with your Whole Heart. Favor flows where there is alignment with Heaven’s heart.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matt 6:33

The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” — 2 Chronicles 16:9

3. Steward Your Assignment

God rewards good stewardship. In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), those who multiplied what they were given received more. God rewards those who use what He’s given them. Steward what’s in your hand, and God will multiply it. Be faithful in your academics, job, relationships.

Don’t chase money or influence—chase the Kingdom.

Your preparation attracts God’s provision.

“Money is attracted, not pursued.”
Favor follows faithfulness and fruitfulness, not hustle.

4. Give God a Vessel

You must give God something to bless. Like the widow in 2 Kings 4, who brought empty vessels and saw a supernatural supply of oil, God needs something from you—a step of obedience, a vision, a plan.

2 Kings 4:6 – “The oil stopped—not because God’s power ran out, but because there was no vessel left.” Make room for the miraculous by preparing space for it. Faith creates the vessel. Obedience keeps it open.

“God will never run out of oil. The question is: will you run out of vessels?”

5. Cultivate a Heart of Gratitude

Acknowledging blessings (even small ones) opens the door for more. A grateful spirit is attractive to both God and people.

6. Develop Excellent Character

Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness. Diligence and a strong work ethic. Humility and teachability. A positive attitude and a spirit of excellence.

7. Sow Seeds of Favor (Giving & Serving)

Helping others, serving your community. Being generous with your time, talents, and resources. The principle of sowing and reaping (Luke 6:38).

8. Master Effective Communication & Relationships

Active listening, empathy, kindness. Honoring others and speaking well of them. Networking with genuine intentions.

9. Be Prepared for Opportunity

Continuously develop your skills (https://www.youprevail.net/2025/06/the-development-journey.html). Be diligent and ready when opportunities arise (Proverbs 22:29). Recognize that favor often meets preparation.

10. Walk in Humility

Favor often flows to the humble. Avoid arrogance. Being teachable and open to correction. When you walk in humility, you invite God’s grace upon your life. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

“God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you...”(2 Corinthians 9:8 (AMP))

“These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit…” (Isaiah 66:2)

Action Steps:

-Seek wisdom (Proverbs 8:35)

-Pursue righteousness (Psalm 5:12)

-Trust God’s timing (Isaiah 60:22)

-Live with intention—your favor is tied to your purpose.

-Live in Surrender: Pray daily for God’s will over your own.

-Steward Your Resources: Time, money, gifts—use them with purpose.

-Take Bold Faith Steps: Don’t bury your talents. Multiply them.

-Stay Available: Make space for God to fill your life with His power.

Maintaining Favor: It's not a one-time event; it requires continued faithfulness and practice of these principles. Avoiding pride, disobedience, or laziness.

Favor is not magic. It’s partnership, it is accessible and life-changing. It’s about actively pursuing these principles and aligning your life so fully with God’s heart that Heaven backs your every step and favor will naturally flow into your life. May you never chase favor—may you chase Him, and watch favor chase you.

“Gods favor doesnt just bless you—it positions you to be a blessing.”
